freeware-clause:
This program is free for non-commercial use only. Otherwise
please contact me. I cannot take response for any damage caused by the
program or abused usage. You also must not change the program (NO OPEN
SOURCE!!). If one is interested in parts of the code, please write to stefan@stroems.de.
I especially like proposals for further improvement.
system requirements:
-
IBM-PC with MS-Win95 or compatible
-
about 800kB hard-disk space
-
additional space (hd) for temp-files (16 Byte per Pixel)
-
as fast CPU as possible
features:
version 2.2:
-
use constants (C, D, E) in the AB-sequence
-
confirmation when closing a loaded and unchanged parameterfile removed
version 2.1:
-
restore data from the tempfiles after a crash (maybe)
-
further calculation of a part of the picture for better quality where needed
-
one more bug in the parser removed
version 2.0:
-
no installation required: just decompress and start Liapunov.exe
-
MDI with multi-threading
-
save parameters only for less hd-usage or complete data for further work
(colors, continue iterations...)
-
suspend&resume calculation
-
save pictures as BMP or (good-quality) JPG
-
implemented parser with 5 operators and 18 functions; also function-plot
and "Feigenbaum-graph"
-
fixed formulas with adjustments for faster calculations
-
histogram
-
free color-transition (any ammount of colors)
-
some color-transitions included
-
load/save color-transitions independently
-
visual method to choose a part of the picture for further calculation including
zoom, rotation, resize, move.
planned
-
(direct) printing ?
-
better smart-iter algorithm
-
...???...
common:
-
Please do not link this file but: http://www.stroems.de/index_eng.html(best
with hint to the Computer-page). So everyone interested gets the actual
release.
-
Please also do not link to http://cipmaster.physik.uni-erlangen... , because
this links could die soon
-
If one finds a good formula with the parser, please inform me (with a ~25kB
Jpeg file) so that I maybe can code one more fixed formula for faster calculations!
Thanks!
The program has now more than 4000 lines of source-code, so that there
are still some little problems:
little bugs:
-
You have to use decimal-commas instead of points in the english
version, too! Otherwise I would have had to change the parser, too ;-)
-
When scrolling the histogram there are vertical lines. I don't know why
they are there.
-
I tried to completely avoid floating-point overflows with using the maximum
possible results. This may cause some errors in the calculation, but is
better than impossible calculation.
-
The parser calculates also sqrt(-5) or log(-1) ... This may also cause
wrong results.
-
If you often pause and resume the calculation, the watermark upper left
gets more intense: Then do "apply to picture" in "colors" to get
it normal.
-
When trying to calculate huge pictures the system may run out of "resources".
Then
calculate the picture in multiple smaller pics and step them together with
a graphic program
-
The parser is quite slow :(
real problems:
-
When using the parser please click on "test formula" before calculating,
because sometimes there are still the standard error-messages. (program
may crash)
-
Sometimes strange error-messages appear, but I try to get rid of them with
further development :-) (IMPORTANT: If there is an "Anwendungsfehler",
save the data before clicking on OK !!!)
-
The parser may derive little different to the fixed formulas in some regions
of some pictures. That's because of another "correction" at overflows.
-
If the picture is not complete after finishing calculation, use "colors
--> apply to picture"
Who finds more errors, please report to: stefan@stroems.de.
